The McGill-Weizmann Joint Research Award
These awards capitalize on the synergy shared by the two leading institutes in their studies in cancer research in order to expedite and improve the management of the disease. The basis of the partnership is to foster and financially support collaborative initiatives that allow sharing of information and access to significant technological facilities. Some common scientific areas of interests are metastasis/angiogenesis, cell signaling, cell fate/ apoptosis, Tumor micro-environment/therapeutic strategies and animal models in cancer.
Research Awards to promote new creative and high-risk, high-payoff research projects with high significance and relevance to cancer.
All Full and Associate Members of the GCRC. Candidates must present a project in partnership with an eligible member of the M.D. Moross Institute for Cancer Research, Weizmann Institute.
Awardees will be obligated to provide a progress report by the end of the first year.
Grants of up to $80,000/per project will be awarded, each institution providing 50% of this amount.
Payment will be dispersed in two installments of $40,000.
The second installment will be paid at the end of the first year, upon receipt of the progress report.
