The Goodman Cancer Research Centre at McGill University is a world-class cancer research centre in the heart of Montreal. Our mission – to uncover the molecular blueprints of cancer and develop the next generation of therapeutics to benefit cancer patients. The GCRC offers a cutting-edge training program in cancer biology centered around four main research areas: Cancer Therapeutics, Cell Stemness and Plasticity, Oncometabolism, and the Tumour Microenvironment.

What is the Graduate Recruitment event?

We are currently recruiting the best minds to join the cancer biology program at the Goodman. Prospective students are invited to apply to attend the Goodman Graduate Recruitment Event, to be held in Montreal in January 2018. Top applicants will be invited to the Goodman Cancer Research Centre to introduce them to the graduate program and to meet fellow students and scientists. Selected invitees will be offered admission to the graduate program at the Goodman (Fall 2018 or Winter 2019 admission), including a full scholarship and research allowance.

Registration opens.

Tuesday, October 31, 2017
Deadline to submit an application.
A dedicated selection committee will review all submissions and recommend strong applicants to participate in the recruitment event.

Tuesday, November 22, 2017
Selected candidates will be invited to participate in the recruitment event. An invitation package will be sent to the applicant, including: an invitation letter, information about the Goodman and its scientists and research programs.

Monday, December 4, 2017
Invited applicant deadline to respond to the invitation.

Friday, January 5, 2018
Information packages sent to participants of the recruitment event.

Thursday, January 18, 2018
Arrival of out-of-town participants and self-guided tour of McGill Campus. Arrival at the Goodman Cancer Research Centre and registration, meeting the director, faculty, student representatives and ambassadors; lab and facilities tours.

Friday, January 19, 2018
Team-work on assignment, interviews with selection committee members and individual researchers, networking with Goodman researchers and students, followed by dinner.

Official letter of offer will be sent to selected candidates. Offers of admission will be valid for September 2018 and winter 2018. Those offered admission to the research program at the Goodman will receive full studentship and research allowance.

Invited candidates will be brought to Montreal for the GCRC Graduate Recruitment Event. Their expenses will be paid as follows:

• Reimbursement of travel expenses up to a maximum of $500 CAD
• 2 nights’ accommodations at LeCantlie Hotel in Downtown Montreal (January 18 & 19)
• STM Access Card valid for 3 consecutive days
• On site meals on January 18 & 19
